Blazer news: Back in Blazertown
There hasn't been too much Blazer News lately, but we're back from vacation with the preseason of basketball starting! We're back in Blazertown, baby!
First, the Blazers started their 45th season with a pre-season loss to Utah, despite good performances by the new bench guys, particularly Kaman. Defense was good, but the team had a lot of turnovers and offense was lacking. This doesn't entirely bode well for the year, given that the Blazers have had trouble with that dynamic in the past.
The Blazers are currently preparing for their second pre-season game, and first game at home of the preseason, which will be tonight. It will be again against Utah. Lillard is out with a sprain to his left ankle, received in the opener when his foot got stepped upon. The injury isn't serious: most likely they are just not taking any chances with him in games that don't count. Steve Blake will start in his place and most likely play a lot--it will be a wonderful game for him.
Chris Kaman has a reality TV series. Yes. I just said that. And it is true. And it looks like it will best thing ever. From the looks of things, it is, "Jackass" with Kaman in it. And that is exactly what you should want to see.
The Blazers have a new podcast looking back on Blazers' history--something that should absolutely be done. Bill Walton is on the first episode.
Swole Barton--as he now should be called, after a summer of working out--kicked off his season by launching a website. It has a sweet logo and highlight videos of his amazing dunks.
That's all the Rip City news for tonight--they're introducing the players right now!--stay tuned for updates on the game!
