Du jour: a couple content changes

I’m breaking up the content on this site into more neatly considered little divisions, by creating a new segment.  This will be just a daily update with straightforward links and quick commentary the main virtue of which will be its consistency.  It will be, indeed, daily—if not more than daily.

My original scheme, doing reviews daily, was a bit ambitious: sometimes mere commentary, rather than critical analysis of sportswriting, is what is necessary.

So that leaves us with:

News at Noon: daily news and views on the NBA, up around noon each day, selected, aggregated, commentated upon.

Writing in review: reviews and analysis of sports writing.

Blazer news: news specifically about the Blazers.

Game reviews, previews: analyses of games or performances.

Pieces: sports stories.

Commentary: a general essays on sports topics.

Du jour: the menu of the day—announcements, news having to do with the site, what have you.

Today, you'll see some news--just finishing up that segment as we speak--and some Blazer news, as well as a short piece on Mo Williams.
